Eligibility Check & Initial Review

After you submit your application, our we will review your details to confirm you’re eligible for the International Experience Canada (IEC) Working Holiday Visa and that places are available for the season you’re interested in.

If you’ve already started or received confirmation of your visa, that’s great! If not please don’t worry, we’ll advise you on what the process entails with a step by step guide before you commit to anything.

Please note: applicants must be aged 18-35 and from the United Kingdom to be eligible for an IEC Working Holiday Visa. Availability can be limited for certain seasons, so early applications are always recommended.

Introductory Consultation

Once eligibility is confirmed, we’ll arrange a consultation with a member of the Red Leaf Routes team. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we’ll discuss:

• Your goals for Canada (winter, summer, or both)

• Preferred job types and lifestyle

• Budget, timelines, and expectations

During this call, we’ll help you decide which level of support is the right fit for you. Your service package is chosen after this conversation, ensuring you only pay for what you genuinely need.

Registration & Next Steps

Once you’re happy to proceed and your service level has been agreed, we’ll confirm your place for the season and guide you through the next steps. At this stage, you’ll receive clear details and be able to choose from our available job and accommodation opportunities. This is also when payment is taken to secure your place for the season, with pricing tiered according to the service level selected.

Job Preparation & Interviews

We’ll work with you to prepare for employment in Canada, either funneling you directly into jobs through our partners or helping you apply organically to a range of resorts, this including reviewing your CV, discussing suitable roles, and preparing you for interviews.

Job interviews are arranged through our trusted resort and employer partners and typically take place remotely via Zoom or Teams.

Interview timelines generally follow:

• Winter roles: interviews often begin in late spring or early summer

• Summer roles: interviews typically begin around March with some resorts starting slightly earlier.

Accommodation Coordination

Depending on what level of service you select, we’ll present you options of various accommodation that has been pre-arranged for our travellers through our partnerships. Alternatively, we will assist with securing suitable accommodation near the resort location by helping you contact homeowners organically. With our Premium service we offer a ‘Money back Guarantee’ if we cannot find you suitable accommodation before travelling.

Flights & Travel Planning

Once your visa and job interview process is underway or confirmed, we’ll advise on booking flights and planning your arrival. A return flight is not required, but we’ll explain what documentation you should have ready for immigration.

We’ll also help you understand timelines, arrival windows, and how to plan your first few weeks in Canada.

Arrival & Settling In

Before you travel, we’ll ensure you’re fully prepared for arrival and taking your first steps in Canada. This isn’t limited to, but includes guidance on:

• Required documents for immigration

• Obtaining your Social Insurance Number (SIN)

• Setting up a Canadian bank account

• Healthcare registration (where applicable)

• Understanding local living costs and wages

• Support selecting the required Insurance for the desired length of visit.

We’ll also share practical advice on adjusting to the lifestyle and culture specific to where you are travelling to in a Canada, so you know exactly what to expect once you arrive.

Ongoing Support

Our support doesn’t stop once you land. Depending on your service level, you’ll continue to have access to guidance and assistance as you settle into work and life in Canada.
